BRISBANE DRAMA FESTIVAL 2024 - SOLOS & DUOS

Brisbane Drama Festival 2024 is returning for its fourth year after becoming one of the favourite events on the Brisbane Drama Competition Calendar.

The Administrator is always trying to encourage as many drama students as possible to enter, so a few changes have been made to the Schedule 2024.

After years of watching the numbers of senior students participating in the Festival diminish and recognising that so many of these senior students are time poor and struggle to memorise some of the lengthy pieces suitable for senior work, we’d like to try something different.

We’d like to offer the opportunity for verses and proses to be presented as either read or memorised and adjudicated together.

Acting pieces e.g. Character ,Period Drama, Extract from a play ,Duologue must be memorised.

This apparently works well at other drama competitions and might help minimise the pressure of having to memorise so many long pieces and encourage more participation by our senior students.

These changes are not limited to the Senior Sections

The  event is open to local and interstate individuals and groups, encouraging young speakers and actors to participate for performance experience and gain essential opportunities in putting their work to practise.
